Be part of our story and mission to help every woman transform her pain, trauma and tragedy into stories of hope, strength and courage—a sisterhood.
Kathy & Zuza
Sisters at heart, and Qigong instructors, we are united by our passion to support women’s health and healing. We first met through our mutual love for martial arts at an international summer camp of Yang’s Martial Arts Association (YMAA) in Hungary 2000—Kathy from USA and Zuza from Poland.
A sister is someone
who listens when you talk, laughs when you laugh, and holds your hand when you cry…
We instantly connected upon meeting each other. We were so impressed and inspired by each other’s talents, enthusiasm and dedication to martial arts. After meeting each other a few times at the following summer camps in Europe, we developed a close friendship.
As we went on to pursue our individual studies, Kathy in Clinical Exercise Physiology and Zuza in Law, we lost touch for awhile. During this time, we went through our own personal hardships and worked a lot on our own self-development, health and healing.

We eventually reconnected in October 2017 by a chance meeting in Portugal. Catching up with each other after 11 years apart, we were deeply moved by each other’s life stories. During our talk at the Sanctuary of Fátima, we were inspired to start a project together to help other women with similar struggles and need of healing.

Our goals and purpose for this project were further fueled and inspired by the many stories we heard from different women along our life path. Among others, it is worth to mention: the Me Too movement; stories of breast and ovarian cancer survivors; inspiring women with disabilities who run marathons and climb the highest mountains; our own strong mothers; women who have successfully overcome their eating disorders; women who have experienced mental or physical abuse and violence; as well as many women who have felt lost, sad or hopeless.
She needed a HERO,
So that’s what she BECAME.
All these compelling stories grew into our main focus and motivation—ultimately, leading us to create our women-focused Qigong programs for healing and harmonizing the body and mind. After more than two years of researching and collecting ideas, plus teaching, and also pursuing professional studies in therapeutic Qigong, our project took shape at last in January 2020.

We teamed up to start the KZ QIGONG project with the mission to empower women of all ages in need of personal healing with therapeutic Qigong exercises. We bring our specialties in Qigong, Tai Chi and Chinese Medicine as well as our compassion and personal life experiences to design programs to help women to renew their bodies and minds, release their emotional pains and stress, and revitalize their lives rooted in a new way of thinking and being.
